In 2004, I built savannah-salonspa.com. The site was hand-coded using DHTML and Javascript written in Notepad, and graphics built in Adobe Photoshop.
The site was built entirely from scratch and I managed the full project lifecycle, from initial design and content discussions through to hosting and setup. All post-development maintenance is handled by myself, along with regular HTML emails sent to subscribers.
The site is used as a basic presence on the web for Savannah - a hair salon and spa in the centre of Newcastle, UK. The brief was simple - a pleasant, elegant and non-intensive site for existing and potential Savannah clientele to find out more about the company, and review prices and promotional offers.
As the price list is particularly comprehensive, I built a collapsable Javascript menu. This incorporates HTML elements rather than simple plain text. I also wrote a simple leading animation in Javascript and CSS, rather than using Flash unnecessarily.
The site is fully accessible across Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
